I recently faced this head-on while working through Google’s Merchant Center labyrinth. Every product I offered — lovingly crafted digital guidance tools, reports, and books — was rejected again and again. Not because they were misleading. Not because they were broken. But because they didn’t fit the algorithm’s narrow view of what “belongs.”
Descriptions were flagged for being too spiritual. Titles were punished for using words like "soul," "reading," or "guided." Entire listings were rejected with no clear reason, and the only advice offered? Make it less personal. Less intuitive. Less me.
So I debugged. I rewrote. I bent without breaking. I bypassed their logic with truth and clarity. And finally — they approved me.
But this isn’t just about one platform.
